Case Report: The Person Affected By Multiple Sclerosis and Quality of Life
Objectives: This paper is a case study
Methods: This paper is a case study of a man , 50 years old , single, university graduates , diagnosed in 1998 with relapsing remitting, Scale for the Expanded Disability Status ( EDSS ) 7.0 , wheelchair , there are 6 years. He lives with his family since 2002, due to its immobility. The house has many stairs than difficult the locomotion. He had been depressive and without treatment because he depended for anybody to locomove him, which compromised the quality of life (QOL). This situation was maintaining until September 2012, when he moved to a community for people with disabilities, environmental without stairs and he had used the motorized chair , which gave him the mobility and independence. In November 2012 in an institution of neurorehabilitation , which conducts clinical care, it was applied the MSQOL - 54, the scores for physical health was 28.41 and for a mental health was 38.23. In October 2013, with the same instrument, the score was for physical health 55.29 and 66.30 to mental health . Factorial battery personality (BFP) was used to assess depressive traits. Patient is within the acceptable normal range for the psychological test questions in neuroticism, extraversion, socialization, development and opening track.
Results: Patient refers to its improvement due to the change of physical space that brought you the possibility QOL.
Conclusions:
This suggests the QOL as a point of importance for the chronic patient.
