Background: Analysis of Spasticity in MS patients

Objectives: Demonstrating the indications and results of surgical management of spasticity in MS patients

Methods: Analysis of our cases together with the litreature and presenting the results on the basis of clinical notes

Results: Baclofen pump treatment is a very effective method of treating spasticity in MS patients in particular with advanced disease. IT most clearly improves the quality of life in children and adults.

Conclusions: Our experience demonstrates the effectiveness and usefulness of surgical treatment with baclofen pumps in patients with spasticity and MS. The thorough work up with  MS experts and physiatrists is essential in finding the right indication and in achieving the best outcome and response.
