Background: Analysis of the important symptom of spasticity in MS patients and the cohort study of a busy MS center

Objectives: Demonstration of the role of multidisciplinary team taking care of spasticity and the role of surgical treatment,

Methods: Analysis of the advantages and drawbacks of utilizing neurosurgical procedures in the treatment of spasticity

Results: Our experience with review of the litreature does show that the utilization of neurosurgical intervention in selected patients was very rewarding to patients and families alike

Conclusions: We highly recommend the utilization of neurosurgical procedures in the context of multidisciplinary team effort to treat spasticity . The process of selection must be comprehensive and the procedures must be carried out by a surgical team experienced in the management of spasticity .
